Welcome to the New Homemakers School!

This blog is dedicated to my two young adult granddaughters who are trying to make homes for their families.

My oldest granddaughter Felicia who has a blended family of two beautiful stepsons who are 5 and 3 and a daughter who is 3 months old and a fiance who is a restaurant manager and personal professional cook. Felicia never had an interest in learning to cook until she was in a situation where she needed to do it for herself.  She is now becoming a cook and homemaker  and is improving all the time.  I am proud of her.  She is a great mother and loves her family. She is staying home with the children for awhile and trying to make her budget stretch without her previous income.

My next oldest granddaughter Anne is nineteen and is accomplished in firefighting, and is an EMT is in a new relationship with a City Policeman who is also a firefighter and an EMT.  She recently was hurt at her job and is not able to work for the next 6 months in her field.  So she has to make ends meet for her and her significant other.  Going from 2 to 1 salary is very difficult and she is throwing herself into being frugal and learning to cook on her tight budget.  I am also very proud of Anne who has had an interest in cooking for awhile and is learning new things all the time.

The blog is also to help other young women who need to learn a lot of basics and frugal living techniques.  Please join us and feel free to ask questions and share your own tips with us.
